Chicago declines the Detroit trade because Mantha is older and Debrincat has been better.

Vegas declines that trade because Krebs is a very good prospect and as good as Strome is right now, I’d say Krebs’ potential is more valuable then Strome

No argument here, Mantha would be closer if he could stay healthy. But unfortunately right now that's a big if. I'd take Debrincat every day over Mantha. Would love to bring the Detroit kid home but not at the cost of Mantha.

I'd make that Mantha-DeBrincat trade. But I can't see Chicago doing that.

It's close, but I'd like to keep mantha, just think when playoffs actually are a thing for the wings mantha will be better for this team. They drafted a bunch of fast kids already recently. Good idea though

Only reason I'd even consider this is because DeBrincat is RH and Wings need more balance.

Debrincat might have the goal numbers for now, but Mantha's possession numbers are outstanding, and he's played on some of the worst teams the NHL has seen in the last 30-40 years. Once this team ices a defense that can facilitate the play I have no doubt Mantha stats will be better than Debrincat's.

Also compare the guys Debrincat is playing with over Mantha....not even close.

I have to agree if Mantha was going to be traded this would do it. I still don't think Mantha gets traded because Detroit is happy with him and Detroit would have to add to even out the deal.

Are you taking notes? You have to offer up something that's close in value to what you are getting in return a for a trade to work.

The Krebs deal... Here is my thoughts, they are clearly desperate to win a cup and now. The only thing holding them back is center depth, but they have no cap space. I would say Krebs is certainly going to be a good producer at the NHL level. But at the same time, they will need to give up something of high value because they don't have the cap space to make anything work. Are they willing to part with Krebs to get that center depth?
Also, While I realize that Mantha is a different style player than Debrincat, Debrincat is a proven high end goal scorer. Detroit needs that. Chicago needs size and puck possession. Win/win for both teams.
If not, what would Detroit be asking for to sweeten the deal?
