This isn't following the Leafs plan. The Leafs traded some high priced guys, Phaneuf for example and took back short term back money to get deals....The Laich is also done like this. Actually the Leafs have made few significant trades int the past few years it's more getting their draft picks and some European UFAs join the team,
The trades...is anyone really looking for Burrows? Leafs don't need a third line centre like Sutter, they have a few already. And to trade their # 1 winger prospect. No way. The Sedins might, might waive their NMCs but not to a possible out of the playoff team like the Avs. Dallas has enough cap issues, going forward without taking on Vancouver mistake is signing Ericsson.
No this is the Dusty Springfield plan...."Wishing and Hoping."
