I thought there is talk of a 2 week buyout period before the season starts. If can't get rid of Eriksson, next year buy him out. Hog., Pods., Lind, Rafferty all next year, we'll see if any of them develop enough to make it.

Detroit would want more to take on Roussel, maybe a 2nd or 3rd. It's not needed if we can move Ferland to LTIR, like you say "wait until next year". I like Vatanen, but he plays less than Tanev, same issue as Hamonic. Maybe we could sign them both for half price and hope to band-aid together a full season between the two? I'd consider a short term deal for Andy Greene, he's reliable and might pair well with Olli or Rafferty to see if they can stretch their offensive skills.

No point to buyout Eriksson next year. His contract is buyout proof. More harmful then beneficial.

I do think they trade him or he retires after his last bonus is paid.

Going to cost more then a 4th to move Roussels contract as it has 2 yrs left on it for a player that make league min in today’s market.

That makes the most sense at this point. Maybe sign one more RD at the league minimum as we can always send Benn down to create room. There is always the (slim) possibility that someone gets claimed off waivers, but it looks like moving contracts right now is more costly then it's worth.
