Please mark the sabres off your list of sending your sell off pieces. We are in no position.

It's not going to be a top pick
when their top 9 is
Hall-Eichal-Reinhart
Olofsson-Strome-Kane
Skinner-Staal-Thompson

As much as I'd love to see this, it's pretty heavily favored to the Hawks in my opinion. If I'm GM of Buffalo (fun fact: I'm not), I decline this because I'd personally rather have my assets and prospects than Kane.

Its also is overly complicated as we dont want strome or subban.

Okposo will cost probably 2 1st or a 1st and a good prospect (Samuelsson or Johnson) for someone to take his contract.
Strome value is a 1st
So its basically
Kane (retained) + Strome for Cozens, Luukkonen, and a 1st

I don't know why so many Hawks fans think Cup winning and long time Hawk Kane is going to waive his NMC for the bottom tier Sabres.

If the Hawk are going into a rebuild and the Sabres comming out of one, Kane and Strome would make his hometown team into a very good contender

Just don't think "hometown" makes that much difference to Kane. Sabres will soon be nearly the cap limit with Eichel, Skinner, Okposo and 25m. Dahlin could get 8m, and Kane (if was traded) at 10.5,....whoa that would 5 players at 43.5m. Kane certainly doesn't want to go that situation, especially where two average to poor wingers are making 15m.
Sabres aren't set up to "coming out of a rebuild", they will still be spinning their wheels trying to make the playoffs. No, Chicago is Kane's "hometown" now, and Hawks cap situation and chance to retool is much better than Sabres.
