I wish Adams had done this plus extra cap space

Description
ALL TRADES ARE PLAYERS I WISH ADAMS HAD SIGNED INSTEAD OF THE PLAYERS TRADED AWAY.

Pouliot and Pysyk are former first round picks.
Always nice to have a team will first round picks.
Pysyk had a hat trick playing RW last year, he gives the Sabres depth now at RW, five legitimate right handed RW's.
Pouliot balances the LHD with the RHD, but Montour would most likely start before him anyway.

The line up could be different, so any suggestion is a guess as good as mine.
I really hope Krueger separates Hall and Eichel.
I know Hall indicated that he is looking forward to playing with Jack, but does that mean on the same line?

Finally, KoekKoek is still available, he should definitely be target, even if he cost more.
Pairing him with Ristolainen would be dream as well as Jokiharju with Dahlin.

I like these with the exceptions of pysyk and vesey. No interest in either. I think reider is here for the pk. Swapping kahun for girgensons would have been fine by me.

Larsson over Eakin? Sure Eakin will probably provide more offense though
Pysyk over Irwin? Irrelevant, both are #7/8 defensemen
Kahun over Girgensons? Logically but Girgensons isn't bad either
Pouliot over Davidson? Irrelevant, both are AHL call ups
Vesey over Rieder? No you definitely want Rieder, he's much better

Thanks for your feedback.
I am surprised no one commented on Koekkoek.
If Adams could sign him, you are all correct the other signings are irrelevant.

You are most likely correct, I just wanted to put him on the roster.
If we did not sign Koekkoek, he would definitely be in Buffalo.
EDIT: I will put him in the line up and sign KoekKoek to a smaller contract.
I know I made this team, but that is a solid line up.
Maybe Kahun could become the center to make Olofsson go just as he was DeBrincat's center two years ago.
I maybe over valuing Thompson, but with Sam on the third line with Olofsson and Kahun that could be Buffalo's KBH line that helped the Penguin's to win two cups.

Pysyk could also play RW, as he had a hat trick at that position.
He has more pts last season as Davidson has in his last 3 years, give me Pysyk
Vesey was part of the Rangers PK while scoring 17 goals his last season in NY.
Over the last 3 seasons Vesey has twice as many goals as Rieder.
Krueger just mis used Vesey.

Pysyk better than Irwin, see above.
OK you are correct about Kahun, but Kahun was half the price.
Pouliot better than Davidson, over the last 3 seasons Pouliot has 34 pt, Davidson 8.
See above, Vesey is better than Rieder.
Rieder had an exceptional playoff, he may be the Lienno of 2020.

EDIT:
Let me add, great feedback by all.
I love Girgensons, but Vesey was nearly half the price.
Vesery has a higher offensive upside than Girgensons.

Kahun played with DeBrincat in Chicago so he may get good production out of Olofsson as well.
That could be a really good third line.
Of course this lineup depends a lot on Thompson's development as a power forward.

Koekkoek should definitely not cost more than league minimum. His career high in nhl games is 42 at 26 years old and he has not been able to stick now with a second organization. I wouldn't mind him as a 6/7 defenseman but have no interest in playing him on a second pair with Risto especially

I will yield to your experience.
Thank you for your insight
He definitely had a career year last season.
So I would not put him in the line up.
Some players take longer to develop and he may be one of those players.
So you are correct, sign him to the minimum longer term and hope last year could be duplicated.

If we could entice Pilut to return the NHL, he would be our 3rd LHD in this line up, IMO.
I will make the change now.

Kahun didn't center a line with Debrincat. Toews centered their line. Kahun has never played center in the nhl. Maybe he can do it but that is yet to be seen

You are correct.
I looked at this https://frozenpool.dobbersports.com/frozenpool_linecombo.php?select=F&forward=EDM%3A4851%3ADOMINIK%3AKAHUN&games=2018-2019%3AR%3A99&period=ALL&situation=ALL
and it appeared he was the center.
I forgot to look at this https://frozenpool.dobbersports.com/frozenpool_report.php?pos=Forwards&team=CHI&rookie=All&mingp=030&period=2018-2019%3AR&startdate=&enddate=&report=Face+Offs&reportdata_length=30
in which he did not take many face offs.

I still think it was a mistake to let him and Vesey walk for less than $1,000,000 on a one year contracts.
We will see at the end of the season.
I can see Vesey playing the same role as Kapanen in Toronto.
It appears the Kahun will be with McDavid in Edmonton.
Maybe they knew Ruotsalainen was ready.
He did not produce as well last year.

I love that the team has Eichel, Hall, Skinner, Staal, Olofsson and Reinhart,
I guess the last time the team had 6 top forwards was back in 2005-07
Maxim Afinogenov, Chris Drury, Ales Kotalik, Daniel Briere, Tim Connolly, Thomas Vanek, and Derek Roy
That is a long time to wait.
