Colorado likely takes it, but I wonder how this effects their expansion draft choices.

The general plan on here was to protect Makar/Girard/Toews and have Graves taken. Now it’s one of the three above plus Sergachev that would be exposed. 3 are LD if that matters to the Avs at all too

That’s honestly a fair package. It may cost less to offersheet him, but this wouldn’t be a bad substitute.

They don’t have the cap space to make this trade even if they wanted to, so they would never make this real bc they still have byram to add to their d core

It’s a very weird trade

I honestly think a lot of people are overvaluing Yzerman and Johnson's relationship. I'd be very surprised to see Johnson waive for Detroit.

Gotta think the Wings would rather have 5m X 4 years in free cap rather than Johnson even if a first rounder was sweetener.

Tampa isn’t doing that Johnson trade they will be retaining 1 to 1.5 mil and sending him with a a 1st, not sending Johnson a 1st a 2nd and a young guy who lead the ahl in scoring and in points as a rookie

It really doesn't make sense for Johnson or the Wings. If TB really wanted to move him I think Seattle would be the way to go. Especially since the NHL finally figured out how to make an expansion team competitive in the first season. I can see Johnson waiving for Seattle before Detroit
