You realize those same goaltenders backstopped Edmonton to a 1st place finish among Canadian teams last season, right? Your using them as the #1 reason why they shouldn't be considered a top-3 team is completely illogical.

I think everyone knows Mike Smith is trash. And the oilers certainly wouldn’t have finished first if the Leafs didn’t have a large pile of injuries. Not to mention, Oilers finished 2 points ahead of them last year and the Leafs had a game in hand...

Bro, ur stats prove again that the oilers had TWO great players and still Missed the playoffs. Adding Turris Barrie and Kahun will not put u over the top, and it certainly doesn’t even make u a lock for the playoffs. I honestly don’t know what world ur living in thinking that the Oilers are far better than any Canadian team. The leafs and Oilers have played each other 19 times since 2010, the leafs have won 15 of those games LMAO. if u can’t even beat a old Chicago team, how do u plan to
Keep up with the young and better Canadian teams in this division, I just diner understand.

More haters ignoring the facts. Edmonton finished 12th in the league last year and 5th in the West. Use all the excuses you want, they are a playoff team and they improved over the offseason. Suck it.

Toronto has had one of the most elite offences in the league for the last 4 years, and still haven’t made it out the first round. Edm has an AVERAGE Offense at best, behind the big 2. Ur defense is trash, and goaltending is certainly underwhelming.

Edmonton has one of the best offenses in the league next year due to the players Holland has added. They were better defensively than the Leafs last year - in fact of all Canadian teams only the Jets allowed fewer goals than the Oilers last year. Cry all you want, you can't change the facts.

Toronto and Edmonton are overrated. Its simple, their stats are crazy. Only when you look at the offence. Next season - because of the condensed schedule, without a good backup goalie, I don't give a **** for toronto or edmonton. Their top 5 + goalie will be tired at the end of the season. They might be the best team at the beginning of the season, but I see Montreal and Calgary doing some damage later in the year.

Dont forget they were playing in by far the weakest division. If you take that out of the equation and look at how teams did among other Canadian teams, the Oilers standing drops like a stone.

LOL. The Oilers were 17-7-3 vs the Eastern Conference last year. Their record has nothing to do with their division.

Really says something that the weaker teams facing them more often did better. Imagine the stronger teams focusing on them more now.

The oilers had 2 players with over 97 points and still scored less goals than the leafs. The leafs were missing JT marner for 4-6 weeks each. Rlly shows that edm has no depth at ALL.

Do u truly believe that if the Leafs weren’t injured, they would’ve finished below the oilers ??
