Leafs fan: Leafs say no. Why would they trade Matthews when he's much better than McDavid is? Nylander isn't going anywhere. He's the best scoring winger in the NHL.

Oilers fan:. Are you on drugs? Oilers say no way. McDavid might score 300 points this season. Matthews isn't even as good as Draisaitl is. Nuge might even be better. You can have Neal but the Leafs would need to add a 1st with Nylander to get him.

Ya, I was going to do Matthews and Nylander for just McDavid, but that wouldn't work cap wise for the oilers, so I thought I'd through in Neal. Probably some retained salary on Neal.

Best way to handle this - throw all the names on each team into a hat (just one hat) as well as picks, pull out 10 and whichever players or picks get pulled, that's the trade. All in agreement?

Personally I would rather have Matthews and nylander over mcdavid. You can really say whatever you want from a “value” perspective but it’s as logical as asking how much trade value dermott’s dog has. Neither Mcdavid, Matthews, nylander or dermott’s dog are being moved. Players like Matthews and Mcdavid are never traded. Look at the situation with the islanders and Tavares. Elite franchise centres are never traded till after their prime.

Yes, I realize this. It's hypothetical. That's the whole point of capfriendly. Personally, I would rather have McDavid, but I understand where you are coming from. Also, Nylander might be moved. If Dubas is fired, I could see the new GM moving him.

I think it'd be silly to move Nylander but if a new GM comes in he is absolutely the first on the block. I second having McDavid as well (and I am certainly biased lol) he generates chances like crazy. Put him with some decent wingers and his numbers only go up.

Mcdavid’s value? Matthews and a 1st maybe a prospect. I would like to say mcdavids value is three 1sts and a couple of good prospects. It’s very hard to decipher value on top of a really elite player.

Anyone who disputes that value can look into the Gretzky trade. It is really the only trade you can compare Mcdavid to.
