Description
Another vacuum post so don’t take this too seriously, but man, they really should’ve traded their 2019 pick rather than their 2020 because they knew they’d contend for the 2018/19 season

Once again, predicting the huge injury issues was impossible

you mean the 2018 right? Their 2019 1st round pick was already traded to Buffalo (then Anaheim) as a result of re-signing Kane and that was before acquiring Karlsson.

you can basically say the Karlsson trade is the better version of the Duchene trade. I'm sure neither Doug Wilson and Pierre Doiron would've predicted they would unintentionally hand Tim Stuetzle and Bowen Byram to Ottawa and Colorado respectively

They'd already traded that 2019 pick to get Evander Kane, and Ottawa was never not getting a 1st round pick for Karlsson.

Theyre super similar. I think the worst part about both is that both teams also got a valuable member of the future (Norris and Girard) along with the lottery picks

I missed that. Trade Kane for 2018 first and Karlsson for 2019 first I guess
