Mitch Marner is about the last young big name the Wild should be going after

I think he would be fun next to Kaprizov but looking at the price makes me lose interest pretty quick.

Oh it has nothing to do with Marner himself, he's fantastic. Its just that he's a winger on a bloated contract with a massive price tag

Before the draft i was worried the Kings would mess up and take Stutzle like that weird rumour that made no sense and it would leave Byfield and Perfetti/Rossi to the Sens. thank god they ended up with neither

All I was doing was chanting, please don’t pick Rossi, and the funny thing is, he’s really good, but I don’t like guys like Marchand, as good as they are.

well, you do already have Tkachuck, haha.
I loathed the idea of having to face a Tkachuk-Byfield-Rossi line

Are you serious? Did you not pick up on the fact he was saying you can't get Perfetti from the Wild because Perfetti is a Jet? The Wild took Rossi with the 9th overall, not Perfetti... who went 10th overall to Winnipeg.

Are you okay? Do you need caffeine or something?

I don't care if Marner is better than Fiala, or if the value isn't enough. It's not a good deal for Minnesota either here you know. Marner is overpaid and we couldn't afford his contract without sacrificing future contracts of other important core roster players in the future when they're due for a raise. The Parise, Suter, Zuccarello contracts effectively block that from happening.

Simply put, a Marner to the Wild trade doesn't work. Not without significant retention, and I highly doubt Leafs fans want that.

Additionally, Dumba to the leaves was probably viable 6 months ago. Not so much anymore. Brodin doesn't make any more sense than Dumba, as you already have Muzzin and O'Reilly on the left. Unless one of them can play the right, Brodin likely plays the 3rd pairing if he plays the left or 1st pairing if the right and on his offside.

Then throw in that Brodin literally just signed an extension that includes a full NMC, he isn't going anywhere. And he certainly isn't available.

These are the points many fans here don’t understand. This is a good, big picture, response, and I agree. Good post

Tkachuk is an agitator for sure, but he’s not going to spear someone just because the refs are looking the other way. Or stomp on a players stick trying to break it, or lick you, that’s a truly Marchand thing to do. Rossi seems like that kind of player, not limited by the rules of common decency. Tkachuks just going to chirp you, non stop.

Rossi's more on the Tkachuk side than the Marchand side. The Marchand comparison has more to do with the degree which he drives opponents insane while scoring buckets of goals at the same time (he's also a WAY better scorer than Marchand ever was in jr).
He's more of the over aggressive dirty than lick you in the face dirty.

That’s Marchand to a T, and nothing like Brady Tkachuk, who only uses words to agitate. If Brady Tkachuk shut up, then he wouldn’t be an agitator.
