I mean there's no reason why Marner couldn't play on Tavares line other than that him and Matthews are good buddies. I think we will see Marner playing on both lines at points in the season depending on who's hot on any given day. I think that Mikheyev will be given a top 6 opportunity so it's not that big of a stretch. I think it's highly unlikely thought that Vesey ends up in the top 6, as I believe Nylander is a lock for one of those.
You gotta think that is the upside that Dubas had in mind when signing Lehtonen, but only time will tell if he can play top minutes effectively on smaller ice.
Ya, it’s a bad idea to do that. Split up your scorers and top offensive players. U know why coaches don’t?? After the PP, call for the 3rd line now. Oops. Nylander now has a 4 minute shift. Or has to miss his shift and plays less a minutes a game now.
And why would u want Nylander playing 3rd line minutes??
And horrible wings for Thornton. Ya, let’s put 2 speed guys on both sides of the 40 year old. And expect him to be able to keep up??
And let’s bring up our top offensive prospect, who is 5’9, 165 pounds, to play on the 4th line, the checking line, and play 4th line minutes, and rotate with our depth, 13th-14th forwards and sit in the press box a lot of nights too.??
I’m busting your bal*s man..lol. But your line combos are not good!! Lol. Same reason you want your D-men, that are on the PK, on a Defensive pairing together. Or forwards, that play the PK, together on a line. So when the PK is over. They ALL can come off and u can send out a normal, rested line.
