I have a hard time believing OVI will end up anywhere other than WSH. Could be wrong, but I don't see him signing anywhere else.

Id prefer using the Ovi money to resign Danault and Tatar or keeping Chiarot and getting extra roster spot since we dont have any scratches

I agree with RItzy. Ovi is one of those players that even though he may not be that good anymore, Washington will still offer him something. He's a capital for life. Plus, his game revolves around his shot and stuff not speed. So he will still be good when he's nearing 40 because that isn't his game.

Ovie has pretty much said it's the Caps or retirement, Supposedly he wants McDavid money on a 4 or 5 year deal to stay in Washington and then wants to go home to Russia and finish his career in the KHL like Datsyuk did.

The beauty of making these rosters is to have some fun tinkering with lineups and you have certainly succeeded in that. Like others said, OVI is going nowhere. The ship on Kovi has sailed and bringing him back to play on 4th line will not work at all. Your 4 Centres are good choices, is Poehling ready? would losing Danault be costly? Ylonen has speed but needs a season or two in Laval. We have all heard great things about Romanov, but placing him in top pairing right away might be premature. Let him do a season on 3rd pairing. Mete, was an excellent junior player but his numbers are simply not there at NHL level. He is fast, smart and transitions well, but is he a top 4? People will be surprised at how physical Edmundson is and he should be a very good fit to play with Petry, which will allow Petry to keep his offensive game going. Not many have Juulsen as their 6 d-man, if healthy, I think he is an excellent choice and would be a good fit.

Where did you hear he is looking for McDavid money? If it is true, what a way to handcuff your team that has paid you really well up until this point.
