why does everyone hate fluery he is a great goalie who had a down year so every player who has 1 down year has to be traded for a 7th right away golly

It's the cap not the player.

If they were I think he'd have been gone to solve the cap issues. It's like Tampa almost.

since Vegas tried that exact package at the start of the offseason and no team wanted him at that price.

Vegas will have to up their attached value now since its only a few days till camp and any team who would want a goalie has their own cap issues to deal with.

If Vegas wants to pay someone to take MAF off their hands, up the package

Almost every interview with Blues staff suggests that everyone is comfortable with and supportive for Husso as backup.

I think it depends on how much binnington can play effectively, he wasn't great last year, I don't think you want to ridden husso for stretches if needed.

Vegas can just put him on their taxi squad, he would just have to clear waivers which he obviously would. Knight are fine with their present lineup.

agreed, but it'll depend on in-house goaltending, so, as such, they'll promote from within or get a cheap replacement.

he would count for 6m on the taxi squad in terms of Cap hit, that doesnt fix anything. You dont get cap relief putting guys on the taxi squad

In his case, he would have to clear waivers and 50% of his salary or 3.5m comes off the books

what are you talking about....thats not at all how it works, it works like sending him to the AHL, which you only get 950k relief on.

Vegas is stuck with with 7m in cap hit tied in a back up, either with him or him on the taxi squad and someone called up in his place....only way you are going to get cap relief is trading him and since at the start of the offseason no one wanted him for free at 50% retained with a2nd round pick attached...you are going to have to give up more than a 2nd now if you have a chance of getting rid of him

@theozler
@maplelaughs2297

He’s been trending downward for the last TWO seasons,
not just “1 bad year”
And he’s 36years old now,
so a bounce back season is pretty unlikely

Plus the contract sucks
Even if half is held, a 3.5mil backup is still bad

Again... he’s 36

They tried their hardest to move him at the draft & everyone passed.... so what’s changed that now a team will want him?
