Loose depth to get a third round pick? A third round pick averages a 13.7% chance at making the NHL. Is it really worth it to loose depth for a 13.7% chance at getting a player that may barely be above replacement level?

From a Leafs perspective, this makes no sense. Give up the smooth skating Kerfoot for the kick of foot speed in Crouse? They lost all they're centre depth, plus that bottom 6 would get eaten alive for being the SLOWEST in the league. Pretty easy no.

Leafs don't need to make moves for salary cap. They need to make the team better. This doesn't do it

Also, no incentive there to take on an LTIR. LTIR hurts the Leafs now more then it helps, so unless there is some solid picks or prospects coming with Hossa, there is no benefit to the Leafs.
