The main questions that I see here are if the D and goaltending will be good enough.

Andersen will be, to think otherwise is silly. He's proven. And the D will be much better. Dermott and Lehtonen and Bogosian on the bottom pair will be good. Holl and Muzzin were very good last season and Brodie is lightyears better than anyone Rielly has ever played with and Rielly is a superstar. Keefe will get the forwards doing their jobs and the team will be a force.

Matthews will drag the opposition on his way to a 60 goal (per 82 game season) season. Vesey is just a depth piece, if he does well cool if not, I don't care.

I can virtually guarantee you he will be a replacement for one of the "Core 4" Which he replaces idk. Id put my money on Mitch "the B****" Marner

I think Andersen is a decent goalie, and he's had to battle through sub par (at best) D over the course of his tenure in Toronto. The D I agree should be much better (but that's compared to a pretty weak baseline from recent years). Reilly is a superstar? Um, no. He's good, yes, but I wouldn't go much higher than that re: praise. Muzzin, Brodie & Holl aren't exactly world beaters...
Leafs overall are probably 50/50 to win a single playoff series, at best, as constructed right now. If I were you I'd try and move Nylander for a real upgrade at D.

Or you could always try seeing if LA would move Doughty for Matthews. That'd be a tough pill to swallow, but it'd probably increase your chances of being more than a flashy regular season team.
