    NO.

this team is so elite defensively though. And I think in the next couple of years Robertson will be able to produce within a close enough range to Nylander that the offence could afford to do this.

That is true, I just think Nylander and a 2nd is worth way more than jones.

You're wrong. Jones is one of the best defensemen in the league and on the cusp on a Norris. You're overvaluing your own player. I don't think Nylander and a 1st even starts the conversation.

I don't know if 59 points in 68 games , finishing 12th in 5-on-5 goals and perfoming better than both Marner and Tavares in the playoffs is overvaluing. Saying on the cusp of a Norris is a stretch.

I'm not trying to bash Nylander at all, I think he is a very good player, I just think you guys are drastically undervaluing Seth Jones. Look at his advanced stats and the progression he has made every season, I'd be willing to make a wager that he will AT least be in top 3 for Norris votes by the end of this season.

I know how good jones is, I watched him stop the leafs offense so trust me I know, Im just personally not willing to give up Nylander and a 2nd for him

    His advanced stats are unimpressive.

Fair enough. At least you will admit that you just like your player more. At least that's a fine reason for not wanting to trade a guy, as opposed to acting like Jones isn't insanely good.

I don't either if the terms on their contracts are the same. But for a year and a playoff of Jones, 4 years of Nylander sounds like not such a bad option. What are you gonna get from other teams thats any better? Some picks and prospects? I'm taking Nylander over a couple of B+ prospects and a very late first or two.

Unless I missed something, there is nothing to say Jones isn't going to sign an extension in Columbus. Now, if they're concerned they're going to lose him to FA, sure make a deal.

I mean name one big name UFA in the last like 5 years to resign there... Columbus is to NHL stars as the Leafs are to game 7's (painful to write that one, but true.)
