Buffalo has less than zero incentive to do that.

Yea I know there would be no point to getting rid of Rust here but just showing an example of what it would take to get Kane.

Buffalo would be interested in adding Pouliot I believe and Hagelin could work because Buffalo is looking for speed. How about Kane and a 2nd/3rd for Hagelin and Pouliot. I'm sure Buffalo wouldn't be against retaining some salary

GM JR likes talented players who are being underutilized, not idiot players who will likely wash out of the league in a couple more seasons.

Guys,

I know this trade doesn't make any sense, I was just showing an example to Palhal for what it would take to get him.

If JR likes underutilized players, would they have interest in Girgensons? Former first round pick a couple years ago who played very well under Nolan but ha struggled with Bylsma as coach.

I don't know if Rust makes sense in the trade (it might) but I did think the Hagelin/Kane was good fit, if the Pens think they could reform Kane which was shown in a previous post
