Team: 2020-21 Toronto Maple Leafs
Initial Creation Date: Jan. 17, 2021
Published: Jan. 17, 2021
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Both Canadian teams so they would not have to quarantine (I'm not sure if roslovic is in the US or not). Both young players in need of a change. Toronto has an abundance of bottom pair depth and lacks scoring depth, Winnipeg already has an abundance of forward depth and could absolutely use a player like Dermott , plus it's not like they are really losing much since roslovic will not play there.

    U know what... maybe

Different top 9 though, when healthy:

    Hyman-Matthews-Nylander
    Miyk-Tavares-Marner
    Robby-Kerfoot-Roslovic

Yeah that's a good idea, I just don't know what the plan for jumbo is. I assumed it was just going to be a rotating 4th line role/pp with Spezza. Your lines would be optimizing the roster imo.

Thanks a real chance, hoping Bogosian can play up to his Tampa play instead of Buffalo play and the unknown Lehtonen. Dermot is a competent NHL Dman.

Roslovic will be real happy. 3rd line wing minutes at 900k. Guessing if that’s what he’s walking into he’s not walking in.

    P.s. Ok minutes I guess but 900k ?

I just don't see a need to make this move. Dermott has been good and we have enough depth. I'd sooner give the taxi squad guys a chance and not waste the asset.

Agreed. But value wise it works

I agree dermott is a competent nhl D man but he is just not going to move up in the line up. I don't think Bogo has been to bad he is going to play 14 minutes a night and only be relied upon for minimal pk duties. Yes Lehtonen is an unknown but whats stopping them from trying him out? He would at very least be an improvement on the pp over brodie. At the end of the day they still have lehtonen, sandin, rosen and lily who can all play nhl minutes. With roslovic they get some much needed scoring help similar to what johnsson brought. Hopefully you can see where I am coming from.

I dont see money being an issue. A lot of rfas this year took the "betting on myself" approach. Realistically no teams had much money this year so players took 1 year cheap deals so they could avoid the hight escrow and sign their big ticket the next off-season. I could see Roslovic taking Veseys spot on the 2nd line + some 2nd line pp. I'm sure he would be happy with that plus playing with tavares/nylander. I also don't understand why he feels entitled to anything. He really has not done much to deserve a concrete top 6 role. If he wants to earn that he has to start playing sometime right? Look at poolparty in EDM he is playing 3rd line minutes while earning the trust and confidence of his coach. Anyways thanks for the comment.

Just curious, who on the taxi squad do you think could give them some offense in the middle 6? Cause I honestly don't see much. Dermott has been fine but in no way does he deserve his spot in the lineup until he starts to step up his play.

I would check the stats between Dermot and Roslovic. For a Dman who see no PP time, his offensive and maybe even defensive stats as Dman are more favourable than Rosovlic. Ain't no way Roslovic is a top 6 player on the Leafs There is no way you can says Rosen is an NHL Dman. Lehtonen maybe, but he is a UFA next season. So what if Dermot is the fifth best Leafs Dman, he is better than most fifth Dmen in the league. Heck he was the Leafs fourth best Dman last season.
