I mean Glass hasn’t done anything yet. This team is still missing a #1C and PLD can do that.
VGK is the biggest dark horse for Dubois imo. They've shown that they're willing to make really bold trades, they're a market that would REALLY appeal to PLD and they're at a point of contention where their biggest need (a 1C) can be acquired by giving up future pieces they've built up.
CBJ needs to add a top-six forward right now; if they move Dubois they'll need to get someone who can fill his role (or offset his loss) long-term too. Plus they'd like to add some draft capital.
The framework of this deal works very well. Top six winger + one of Glass/Krebs + a 1st is good value for PLD and fits the VGK MO. That said, I think CBJ would prefer someone like Smith, Marchessault or (ideally) Pacioretty instead of Tuch, since they need someone who can play on the left wing more than another RW.
Glass would be a great add for them – he has size, skill and is a right shot, which they need at center (all lefties right now). I wonder if Krebs would be more attractive to them, though, since he's a high-motor player in a similar mold to Texier, but with more skill and better skating.
