Description

Go into the future with me. The Avalanche are coming off back to back Stanley Cup Champions. Still have Mackinnon for another year at 6.3 million. HIghway robbery. Makar just won his first Norris. They want this team to stay together.

In the 2021 Offseason. Seattle joins the NHL. They will select Ryan Graves from the Avalanche as the Avs get EJ to waive his NMC/NTC.

The Avs also resign Captain Landeskog and Makar. Both take team-friendly deals to keep the team together. After 2 cup runs the Avs buyout EJ to save 4 million of cap space.

Avs build a nasty defensive line with : Nichushkin, Larsson, Aston-Reece

At the end of Macks contract. The Avalanche will have won 3 Stanley Cups in a row :) And with 15 million in cap room to resign : Mack, Byram, Annunen, Kaut will be take some trades but can be done.

I know it's a fairytale world, but I find it hard to believe that Landy and Makar take those deals.

Penguins might have to accept that offer. I like ZAR but he's a 4th liner. They got guys chomping at the bit for ice time. Him getting moved wouldn't surprise me at some point. Will miss him as a player though. The commitment and work he put in to change his game and fit the system is really admirable.
