Under normal circumstances I would agree - but given Nate Schmidt was moved for cap relief for a 3rd round pick - moving this contract for a Trent with potential and can jump into the roster now at a low cost and the pick etc.

Maybe in the offseason. But Vegas can win right now.

If Moore wasn’t there and they were in on PLD or something, maybe? But you’re giving them a cap dump, a 24 year old in europe, a bottom six kid with potential, and a 3rd. That’s kinda nothing.

This is really bad for vegas. If they’re closing in on PLD, and need the space, maybe something like this could happen if more is excluded.

Like I said, under normal circumstances - I agree but when you see Nate go for a 3rd rounder and knowing that vegas is in cap purgatory - you never know.

This doesn’t help their cap that much.

And they’re fine for the cap this season. Notice, they’re playing with a full roster.

Most times like a little wiggle room, they are using Taxi squad rules and 800K of LTIR to help out - they have the 4 least amount of cap space in the NHL- they even tried moving patches before Nate in the off season but his salary was to much and teams didnt know what to expect with covid....I would never say never and the above at the start of next season saves them over 2 million and with one RFA left to sign puts them in a good spot.

I would say never. It’s ludicrous.

They gain 2.1 million, lose a fantastic scoring forward, and get a 3rd round pick (JFK is nothing). That is HORRIBLE.

This is like someone offering a bad contract, a crap prospect, and a 5th for marchand. Not happening.

Not sure if you have watched Frederic play this season, but I wouldn't say he is crap - if you wish you then add 1 of the 8, 20 goal scoring machines we have playing on the 2 to 4 lines that you referred to (I mean the top 3 are obvious - the other 5 I assume are Smith, Kase, Debrusk......not sure who else is part of that 8).

Again your argument falls in line with one just as compelling to think a top 4 D man with scoring 30 or more points in 3 consecutive seasons getting moved for a 3rd. I see your point of view, but to out right close the door would be a bit silly.

I never called Frederic crap. That said, just look at what patches has been. Then realize you’re offering a cap dump, Frederic, and a third for him. That’s insanity.
