Combating the prospect point we have Zegras who has the ceiling of a Franchise centre, which imo is higher than PLDs.

Yes we have the cap but im not sure if I would want to bring in a guy like him could be a bad influence on our young guys and prospects. PLD has put a real sour taste in my mouth with his antics.

Most I'd offer is Rakell and Steel if that doesnt get it done then oh well

I mean, if that was the price, I'd do it in a heartbeat, but I feel like Jarmo would want someone a bit more proven at the NHL. Steel has the type of upside that would need to be included, but I just don't think Jarmo goes for it. There's too many other teams that are likely looking to get him.

That's the main reason why I think that people who are thinking they'll get him without giving up a solid young NHLer/prospect are full of balogney.

I should have said, I assumed Zegras was a winger, but you are right he could also play C. Indeed, his upside is comparable to PLD, probably higher even. Having both together could be quite something.

You are right, however, CLB doesn't have full leverage here. He sure is under contract, but with the TOI Tortorella is giving him, his value is declining. I believe Drysdale and Zegras are the only two names that can't be involved here. Perhaps Anaheim add a full time NHLer (Henrique? Rakell?) and change Tracey for another prospect (Groulx, Comtois, Lunderstrom)?

Oh see I cant stand Duchene, I hate guys like that, same with Drouin. You're getting payed millions and living out your dream and you cant be bothered to put effort in? Ask for a trade all you want that doesnt bother me but when I see a complete lack of effort I lose all respect for that player. I wouldnt even dress him and let him rot in the press box until his attitude changes, could be a long 4 years of team control for him.

CBJ has more leverage than people think. They are in full control of PLD for at least the next 4 years he can whine all he wants it will only make less teams want him in the long run. I cant stand when players act like spoiled divas

I don't think the TOI is going to affect it at all. If Jarmo let's it, then he's a lot worse GM than I've been giving him credit for.

I'd be fine with Rico/Lundestrom, or Steel/Rakell, and if Terry needs to be thrown in, so be it. I also don't feel like the Ducks *have* to try to be a major player here. PLD isn't the difference between making the playoffs vs. not making them. A future center core headlined by PLD and Zegras makes my heart feel happy, but realistically, the Ducks can hold off until after the expansion draft, and use the cap space they'll have to upgrade then via free agency and/or the trade market.

Agree 100%, If I'm CBJ I'm holding him until he acts right, his value wont go down but you need to make an example out of him, show everyone that CBJ will not tolerate this type of behaviour from anyone

I think Rico would probable the NHL ready piece that goes to Columbus, they would need him for their center depth,
But part of me wonders if PLD doesn’t necessarily net the return you would expect because of his recent antics, CBJ has lost all leverage so now it’s just a bidding war between the other GMs and they can kinda fix the market price for PLD
