From an avs fans perspective I love this trade, I think this would be great for us if we could get someone like Wilson.
But idk if the capitals say yes.

Obviously Washington says 'hell nah' to this. It's waaaay off.

I would love to see Wilson on this team though, this team could really do with some size and snarl in the middle 6 for sure.

Agreed. And I could see a TDL move similar to this getting some playoff grit in the middle 6 like you said

100% a little Grit could go a long way some good trade history with Washington but would probably take the farm kitchen sink and 1st born

Washington would ask for the sky for Wilson. He's just such a unique player and they have zero reason to trade him. They'd probably ask for Newhook which would be silly to trade, but the value probably isn't that far off that. But then again Washington are contenders so they won't have any reason to trade him. It would take a big overpay.

I wonder if a lower prospect or a current guy like Jost or Compher and 1st would do it and would it be worth it.

So the value is definitely way off, but I think everyone else drove that home. The caps need a high end prospect and a forward to replace Wilson in the trade. I’m thinking like Byram and Compher maybe. It doesn’t make sense for either team though because the caps have enough young defensemen and Wilson fits perfectly in Washington

Yep, and Byram would make it a non-starter from the off.

Personally I'd have loved the Avs to have made a move for Josh Anderson, before he went to MTL. Prising him out of there with the team he grew up supporting would be unlikely bar a massive overpay.
