THE NUCKOS NEED HELP

Created by: Angry_Canucklehead

Description
i will not forgive jim benning for the 2020 offseason
Trades
1.
VAN
  1. Manson, Josh
Additional Details:
Basically a bad contract swap and a slight cap improvement for the Canucks which will be needed.
Manson is much better defensively than Myers but much worse offensively. Probably worth it for both teams. Anaheim's money is going nowhere, so why not take a pick?
Manson will hopefully do well on the Canucks' third pair, and if not, it is a movable contract since there will only be 1 year left after this season.
Myers can eat minutes for anaheim while they rebuild.
ANA
  1. Myers, Tyler
  2. 2021 3rd round pick (VAN)
2.
VAN
  1. Ekholm, Mattias
Additional Details:
First blockbuster.
Ekholm is probably the best contract in the NHL.
That being said, the Predators are a mess. They probably need a rebuild, and Ekholm is an elite defensive defenceman that will anchor a Cup-caliber team.
Might be an overpay but it's better than signing Eriksson and Myers to lengthy $6 million dollar deals...
NSH
  1. DiPietro, Michael
  2. Woo, Jett
  3. 2021 2nd round pick (VAN)
  4. 2022 1st round pick (VAN)
3.
VAN
  1. Iafallo, Alex
Additional Details:
I'd love to not screw up this rental - maybe he can be brought back.
The Kings won't make the playoffs with that defence and are rebuilding anyways. No longer a division rival (at least not this season) this makes more sense.
Iafallo would be perfect - he does everything well. He's younger at 27, but would be a massive piece for us if we want to make a run.
The Kings have 1 player (Athanasiou) who needs re-signing for more than 1.5 million. They can take Eriksson without causing harm
LAK
  1. Eriksson, Loui
  2. Gadjovich, Jonah
  3. 2021 1st round pick (VAN)
Additional Details:
Conditional 2023 1st round pick if we re-sign Iafallo.
4.
VAN
  1. Pesce, Brett
Additional Details:
Last move: another top-4 D-man, only a righty this time.
This is really far-fetched but should Pesce become available (and apparently, he was available in each of the last two offseasons)
The Hurricanes for whatever reason were willing to deal such an underrated defenceman...
This gives the Canucks arguably the best defensive unit in the league. Carolina gets a pair of good prospects and a pick
CAR
  1. Gaudette, Adam
  2. Lind, Kole
  3. Manson, Josh
  4. 2023 2nd round pick (VAN)
5.
VAN
  1. 2022 1st round pick (CBJ)
Additional Details:
I don't even know what Juolevi's value is anymore.
Jarmo Kekalainen seems to be a sucker for Finnish guys, so maybe we can slap a lotto protection on the pick and call it a deal? I don't know? We have no real use for Juolevi now or in the foreseeable future...
6.
VAN
  1. Ryan, Bobby
  2. Stecher, Troy
Additional Details:
Last one.
Point blank I hate Virtanen.
Bobby Ryan is a nice rental for sure.
Stecher, meanwhile, is basically a defenceman who can play on any pair (two seasons ago he had a stretch of about a dozen games playing 26-30 minutes a game and looking great). He's also a fantastic puck manager, plays super hard with so much heart, and is a great locker room guy. That being said, his value is so low that Jim Bum-ming let him go to free agency for a reason unknown to mankind and broke the heart of every Canucks fan in the process after we already had to grieve losing Tanev, Toffoli and Markstrom. Sorry but not one of these trades is accepted by the teams not named Canucks.

Would rather have Manson than Myers and a 3rd.
Zero chance Ducks make that deal
Pesce forms one the top 2 duos in the NHL
No way Columbus even entertains that deal.
Nashville may take it ,but Ekholm doe shave sweet deal and they may not want to trade it.

Wings will trad aryan maybe at the deadline for picks not a player that does not improve their team.

Definitely a solid offer for Ekholm, but DiPietro wouldn't be of much interest to NSH, when they already have Ingram and Askarov.

Canes pass. We want to win, not trade a dollar for 4 quarters.
