Trade with Flames

Created by: goowy
Team: 2020-21 New York Islanders
Initial Creation Date: Jan. 30, 2021
Published: Jan. 30, 2021
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Figure Calgary will want to shake things up. Johnny is UFA in two years. I am not sure what Calgary needs or what they would want. I assume Calgary would be selling low based on his recent performance. I'm sure Bailey isn't at the top of their list. Whally and a second?

EDIT: sorry didn't realize Gaudreau was playing well again. Not only would Flames not likely move him, but Isles would have to up the ante.

Disagree, Gaudreau's returned to 18/19 Johnny Hockey. Bailey has fallen off a fair bit and is still on contract for 3 more years after this, Wahlstrom is a decent prospect but not enough to justify the trade. Flames would only do this if tanking which they aren't doing

Interesting. Although I see Wahlstrom as an «A» prospect. Maybe I'm a bit too high on him but hey, what do I know, I'm no Isles fan...

Someone is a hard-marker. 8pts in 6 games not good enough?

Don't get me wrong he's a solid prospect I just think NYI would be outbid here pretty easily

LMAO I didn't eve read the description until now "I assume Calgary would be selling low based on his recent performance." Yes Gaudreau is clearly struggling

Crazy lol. Gaudreau has looked good so far. Would like some more at 5 on 5, but the same could be said for the rest of the forwards.

As odd as it is to say (excluding Markstrom) Gaudreau, Monahan and Hanifin are probably the 3 players that have played well every game so far

That's fair. I didn't realized he got his game back. Haven't watched the Flames this year. I just heard they were struggling and always hear his name in trade rumors. If they were to shake things up, who would they move? What do they need?

It wasn’t a bad offer.

I think they would ask for a lot though. A 1st, Wahlstrom would be the start I think
