While retaining 3mil for 2 years? The salary retention is the most valuable piece of this trade and NYR need to pay more for it. ADA is Chernobyl with Covid right now. Nobody is touching him.

It's not a better contract if FLA is keeping half of the other one.

More likely would be Deangelo (50% retained) plus pick/asset for Yandle (full contract). NYR has no leverage in ADA trade.

Hopefully terminate contract, if not under 26 1/3 buyout this summer. Must spend wisely, soft Yandle is not in the cards.
