Quantity does not equal quality in this case. I don't think that there is a trade for Barzal where you hold on to Kotkaniemi or Suzuki.

I don't think there is a trade where bergivan trades suzuki or kotkaniemi the first makes up forthem

A late first, mid round pick, a player that has a tough time making the lineup and a few other middling players do not come near the value of Barzal. Especially with the retained salary. The fit does not make up for the difference in value in this trade. There would have to be a big return for the Islanders to be able to sell their fans on trading away their franchise player.

Why do all habs fans value Danault so much?

the above basically looks like Mette who is on bad terms with the habs, Danault and a 1st for Brazal? I mean if Dubois lands you Roslevic and Laine, Brazal gets you more than that brutal offer.

Danualt's line is plus points versus the best lines in hockey over last few years.

The question really is can the Canadians afford to pay the best 3rd line center in the league (once kot and suizki develop) 6 million a year going forward. Habs offered 5 million and danualt said no.
