Scratches = wildcards to look at this season (Girard feels overlooked in these conversations -- imagine him on international ice, the space he'll have to play with!)
O'Reilly: Yup, that was the toughest cut
Morrissey: Yup, another tough cut
Tavares: Victim at the centre depth and I want the wings to stay fast
Couturier: Overrated, yeah I said it. I'd put Toews in ahead of him
Parayko: He's tall I guess
Hamilton: I take issue outside of his offense
Doughty: He hasn't exactly been ideal of late
Giroux: You just know he'll be cut and proceed to have a Hart worthy season
Hall: He's fast I guess
Seguin: He's better than Taylor I guess
Binnington: AKA Cam Ward 2.0
Stone: How is anyone leaving him off? He's only been leading in takeways every year!?
Bergeron: He's timeless
Marchand: I know, I hate him too, but c'mon
Stamkos: I want a shooter outside the circles -- this D is mobile, but it's not the firing power of past years
Horvat: I want a shooter in the bumper and yes him over Tavares (he's been leading in goals since the bubble)
Huberdeau: He's like a 100pts player and the most overlooked player of the league
Scheifele: I'm considering him the questionable one -- everyone else is a lock at FW
Weber: He's never regressed, he had ONE long injury, stop being a drama queen, plus someone has to play on the PK
Ekblad: Overlooked and victim of the Florida market, his game is well-rounded. There's enough speedy small-sized skill to choose from in this D core
Everyone else: You know why they're there, stop your hipster-wannabe nonsense
My main issue is Horvat over Tavares. I think tavares is on another level from Horvat who, even if Tavares doesn't make it, won't make it imo
I know... I'm strictly rationalizing it by having Horvat skating at wing. I like Tavares' grindy game at centre. But then, I'm also second-guessing leaving O'Reilly off...
Don't get me wrong Horvat is a great player. But over Tavares? Come on man
I'm stickin' to it for now. I'll grant you it's bold. But, look at his production since the bubble -- it's probably not sustainable -- but if so, he has to be on this team.
