Then stick with Kerfoot as your 3C who's been horrendous defensively on a line that his coach wants to be the shutdown line. & again, lose out in the 1st round all because you were too stubborn to move a 17 year old who may or may not make it in 3-5 years and may help out then.

Great way to convince Matthews, Marner, Nylander, Rielly, Andersen, etc to stick around and win in Toronto. They gotta hire you soon!

now we're writing fan fic. so what if the leafs over pay for a 3c and he's not worth it and they lose anyway, that player walks in free agency and now they have less cheap depth because they traded high picks and prospects. What will the players think then?

Still more meaningful than your vote.

dude, you can just say you were wrong. You are getting weirdly personal about this.

I guarantee they think:
"Damn, management believes in us to go out and get us an upgrade and we lost. This is on us. But management sure does do what they need to win"

- ask every player in the league that question and I guarantee that's their response.

LOL... if I was wrong, trust me I'd have no reason to jot admit it. You're the one that every time there's a debate and you're wrong you can never admit it. Your ego seems to be too high or something.

no, you were 100% wrong. You think selke voting where two people who you couldnt even pick out of a name line up means literally anything. You're literally going to bat for Steve Simmons here like he has any credibility at all. You wanna talk ego after pretending your point has merit with that sort of defence? Dude, it's over.

I get the sense you value the defense and face off ability more than the offense at the deadline, which is reasonable. I’m in the boat that you could have both buy giving up a 1st and 3rd plus 2 prospects. We will see how it plays out. From a Wild perspective, any of the Bonino trades we’ve discussed would be seen as wins in Minnesota.

This is likely the leafs best shot and the year to throw around draft capital like candy.

The way I look at it is simple: Keefe wants a shutdown line as the 3rd line and the main thing stopping that right now is the centreman. Keefe wants more offence in the top 6 from his wingers and a guy that can go get the puck for Tavares and Nylander. Kerfoot is not a good NHL centre option, but he's a good 2nd line winger option with his speed and forechecking ability. That was shown in the game last night against Ottawa (is it a coincidence that Keefe out Kerfoot with Tavares and Nylander to get them going? I don't think so). So yes, I'm pretty sure the team values a defensive centre for the 3rd line that can win faceoffs and kill penalties while still having enough speed to keep up with the roster makeup and inevitably McDavid if Toronto gets Edmonton in playoffs. Who fits that that might be available? Bonino certainly does. Kerfoot only wins 41% of faceoffs. He's the only regular centre below 50% on the team. Spezza is around 63%, Tavares around 59%, and Matthews is around 52%. Bonino himself is at 55.8% while starting 55.7% of the time in the defensive end. Bonino also has the playoff experience and back to back cup winning experience which management shifted to valuing last off-season (hence bringing in guys like Bogosian, Thornton, Simmonds, etc.). So from how I see it with all the facts and stats in front of me, Bonino seems to be the perfect fit for Toronto.

& if that means giving up a draft pick in a weak draft where the calibre of players drops off after 8-10 picks (where the Leafs pick will be no where near), to go for a deep run in the playoffs, I'm all for it. Contending team do it all the time. Chicago trades a 1st for Antoine Vermette in 2015 when he was 32 and went on to win the cup. Boston traded a 1st and a good prospect for a well diminished Tomas Kaberle in 2011 when he was 33 and went on to win the cup. Pittsburgh traded a 1st to Calgary for Jarome Iginla in 2013, didn't win a cup but they were a contending team. It's what top teams do, trade away top picks when they have a shot at winning. Sign me up if that's all it costs!
jnowariak and RazWild liked this.

Welcome to the block list dude. I now see what everyone meant when they've said you were arrogant in the past. I don't have time for childish comments like yours.

I love the smell of hypocrisy in the morning.
Step 1- have opinions
Step 2- have someone disagree
Step 3- make it personal for no reason and ignore all points against your arguments
Step 4- call the other person names and block them.
