Need for Need! (To get them over the hurdle)

  1. Kamenev, Vladislav
  2. Kirkland, Justin
  3. 2018 2nd round pick (NSH)
Additional Details:
I know this trade would only happen if Ottawa becomes a seller at the TD.

------------------------------------------------------------------
The Sens get an elite prospect in Kamenev. A pretty good prospect (B) in Kirkland. And a 2nd.

If anyone thinks I'm undervaluing Turris, look no further than the Kessel trade.

And if you think I'm overvaluing him then think about how the Sens wouldn't want to give him up without getting a top prospect back along with other assets.

So for expansion NSH is going 4/4/1 correct? I imagine they would protect Turris, Forsberg, Johansen, and Wilson as forwards since they gave up so much.

Yeah it would be Turris, Forsberg, Johansen as the main guys. But then you'd have to pick if you were going to let go of Ellis and can you afford to do that. Because if they can afford to lose him, then Neal and Wilson are must haves.

I don't want to seem like a hater but both trades you proposed are unreasonable. If the Sens do miss the playoffs they still wouldn't trade Turris as they feel thatt he's their number one center and need him more than ever especially with Brassard struggling. Plus Turris is signed beyond this year, if you were referring to him as a rental then I would agree with your proposition of having him moved out of Ottawa pending the miss the playoffs. In addition to that there's no way Montreal or any team pays that price for Ribeiro either. In fact a second in itself would be an overpayment let alone De la rose....Just giving my opinion not trying to hate.

It's amazing how close the standings. Even the last place team I believe is on pace for 76 points in the East., admitting, three point games skew the meaning of a .500 team. Might be late in February to determine who are buyers an sellers.

haha it's all good. But no I wouldn't trade for Turris as a rental, because he isn't a rental. He's a star. But if they miss the playoffs then you'd think there would need to be change. I agree maybe not Turris because he's only 27, but something needs to happen in the Karlson years. Now here's where you're mistaken, Ribeiro would be a very good rental and you see the players that get traded at the TD every year and how teams overpay for them. De La Rose is an ok prospect, Flynn is a fourth liner, Barberio is a 7th Dman and then you have the 2nd. So it's really not overpaying at all. That's the price you have to pay to get a offensive rental C.
