I don’t think it’s worth giving up the 2021 1st. If we gave up the 2021 2nd that would basically be like a 1st from a contender + high end prospect (Formenton) which should be pretty fair, maybe toss in like Abramov or another pick. Don’t think it happens because we have Dadonov though, who basically is filling that veteran top 6 RW role for now (likely until our 2021 1st steps up and/or Sokolov turns out to be a beast).

Return for Nashville should be about the same as what Ottawa got for Mark Stone.

Maybe even less than that, although Forsberg still has one more year left after this one at 6 million.

If Forsberg extends with Ottawa, I wouldn't mind Nashville having Brannstrom + our 3rd round pick.

EASILY. The first rounder is likely a top 5 pick. Formenton was runner up to the AHL rookie of the year and will immediately be one of fastest 3 players in the league. Forsberg is UFA at the end of next season and there's no extension in place, meaning Ottawa might be forced to trade him before he's even played a full season for them and they aren't a legit contender for another 2 to 3 years.
