I'd say the base package for "Ekblad to Leafs" is Rielly and Nylander (or even Marner). Maybe a few other small pieces will be shuffled as well.

I don't know of any team that would think that Eckblad is a bargain at 7.5m. Why he be in the future? Florida has gone the route of paying it's guys coming off ELCs to almost UFA contracts. He better be "the guy" cause paying 10% of the cap for one player is risky. Of course he is turns into real star, then his salary is a bargain, but he isn't proving it so far this year.

As a Habs fan, nothing would please me more greatly than for the Leafs to tie up 10% of the Cap on one guy who may or may not be a franchise defenseman. I miss using all my Phaneuf jokes. And I love looking at that and contemplating the UFAs and more importantly, all those RFAs on ELCs the Leafs will need to resign next year, the year after that, the year after that. Please hamstring yourself now so the rest of the NHL may feast upon your cap hell carcass.

LMFAO JVR+Gardiner+Timashov as basis for an Ekblad deal isn't happening, Start with Rielly+Nylander just for starters at least this is a joke and no way would Florida accept this garbage for Ekblad.
