Woof that Columbus trade is bad for the leafs, and the other two are pointless at best

I disagree about the columbus trade.

EDIT: forgot about the expansion draft, for that reason leafs wouldn't do it.

Korpisalo isn't very good, certainly not bettet than Andersen and foligno looks washed. Its terrible fpr lots of reasons

Columbus declines.

Not enough value coming back when you're trading your captain and retaining half his salary all the while trading your starting goalie when he still has term left on his contract.

Don't think Marleau wants to come back, nor do we have a spot for him.

Columbus trade is pointless for both sides.

I would like to target Foligno from Columbus and I'd be willing to get an upgrade in net. Korpisalo isn't an upgrade for me.

I would love a player like Foligno on the leafs. But it's wild to me that leaf fans think Korpisalo is better than Anderson.

At this point he's probably just as good as Andersen, at any rate it's close. He's worth way more than Andersen though. It's a slight over pay, I'd take out the picks and Petan and then it's Korp for Lili and Foligno for Andersen.

If it's a wash id just keep Andersen and retest the market in the off season.

Andersen's value isn't exactly booming right now either... him and Foligno are probably of similar trade value.
Liljgren is for Korpisalo.

But ya, it's a fantasy scenario that doesn't really fit either team with the looming expansion draft (leafs would lose Campbell or Korpisalo).

Foligno for Kerfoot and, for example a 3rd is better and more realistic.

But kerfoot is the better player, that would be bad for the leafs.
As far as Andersens value, why trade him at all unless youre upgrading?

But Kerfoot isn't the better player... maybe he's doing better now, but Folingo's track record is not to be ignored.

Also if you are getting a good asset like Folingo along with Korpisalo, the swap is worth it for the leafs.

He is the better player now, and in the future. He also has term and isnt 33. Track records for old players well past prime arnt worth much.
So the leafs end up with the worse player now and nothing in the future, and then on top of that they are throwing in a good pick and/or prospect to shuffle deck chairs in net

I'd rather have Folingo on my team come playoff time.

I wouldnt. especially after a compressed schedule. If he's playing bad now, it's more than likely just going to get worse. Especially since he's looked not great to bad for a few years now, it's a pretty clear decline.
He got absolutely buried in the playoffs in shots and chances against last year despite getting crazy sheltered zone starts
