Description
Smiek Donato just don’t fit our future plans, but have value. Kane voids contract for his bankruptcy, and Vlasic retires or voids his contract because he is not happy with front office and coaching staff. Jones bought out!
Gambrell expansion draft,
All of this opens up cap for us to get a few free agents.

Florida won’t pay Dreidger 3.5/4 mil while they are also paying Bobby 10mil so they let him walk and we swipe him up.
Everyone thinks Edmonton keeps RNH but they need a Goalie and depth and giving him 8m doesn’t allow them to fill out their roster like they need, it makes sense to let him walk.
Toronto is cap strapped and already have their top 6 RW’s
So hyman is an easy player to let walk.
And Goodrow will come home with Tampa to cap strapped to offer him more than league min!
Sharks draft in the top 5 and pick their LD to pair with Ferraro and Kynizov (who is Looking more and more comfortable as a stay home D man) on the left with Merkley coming up on the R behind Karlsson and Burns.

Insurance would be Pasichuynuk, he I is an NHL caliber prospect and if Merkely or Hughs aren’t ready he will be!

Hymen is the best of the RW class but don’t be surprised if we trade with a cash strapped team like Tampa or Montreal or whoever for a RW, either way RNH is an upgrade on Kane and Hyman is an upgrade on Balcers who now moves down to the 3rd line with Leonard and Gregor who both have had ups and downs but show glimpses that they can take the next step. Super young 3rd line but I have faith they can play well enough to help the team, or they get benched.
4th line Goodrow True have talent and upside to be middle 6 players but will give us a solid 4th line and PK. Alex is the wild card his upside 2nd line or he could be a healthy scratch,
We will have to give him a chance at camp, if he doesn’t step up.... then on LTIR is the next guys up, Blichfeld Ivan and Dahlen. I could see any of them stealing a spot in camp or if not, then I see them sliding in and out of the 3rd or 4th lines with Alex, Gregor, or Leonard through next season unless one of those guys steps up and takes those spots and holds onto them

Wouldn’t be surprised if the sharks grab one more top 6/ middle 6 guy (I.E. Montreal’s Danault or Armia) to fill out the depth and create more competition for this final few spots.
But I’d rather this lineup and keep up the work with the kids!
Besides after this next offseason we have to re-up Hertl, Kynizov, Ferraro Melnichuyk, the year after that Merkely and Meir, so it’s good to have cap space.

Vlasic may be unhappy but he's not walking away from 35 mil.

Seattle takes a shot on Dahlen in the ex draft. They can give him minutes he'll never get in SJ...

Why would Vlasic pass on his money?? Void contract don't exist bro. Just look at Ladd with NYI.... Kane's situation is unique and he's a pretty dumb kid too doing what he does with his money. Tho I would take him anytime. You'Re not helping yourself with thses moves... The same exact team than before. No depth, old and cap crunch...

Edmonton can sign Dreidger, RNH, Goodrow and Hyman and still have space for Yamamoto, Khaira and Kahun rfa contracts and have dmen in the pipeline. Their is their goalie and depth and still re-sign RNH. More room buying out Neal and burying Turris.

Your whole plan is, mostly, based on Vlasic leaving 35 mil on the table and other players signing with SJ at a discount...

If Vlasic retires without an injury as the cause for it, his cap room is still used. Boychuk, Seabrook, etc had injuries for their retirement and that's why they're allowed to be on LTIR, kinda weird to hope our former franchise legend gets hurt. A team rep said the team is committed to Kane, and voiding his contract must be mutual... or it won't be voided.

Also from watching the Cuda: Pasichnuk is NOT an NHL prospect. He went from taxi squad player to Cuda 3rd pairing. The only time he generates anything is when the cuda are up or down by a lot and they put him with Merkly for kicks. Also Chekhovich is probably gonna be on the Sharks this season after he finishes quarantining, would make the roster next season. No reason to sign other wingers when we have so many who can eventually be 2nd-3rd line guys: Donato, Leonard, Gregor, Balcers, Dahlen, Chekhovich, Blichfeld

You might be right I could go another 750k a year on that deal.
Leafs have no money to give him a raise and find a goalie next year so I highly doubt they resign him, but ya never know.

I really don’t want to get one of the older guys unless it’s only a 1-2 year deal! I’m really hoping one of our younger guys takes the role but we will see, personally I like Dreidger a lot.

Leafs likely go after a goalie in FA if they don't get resigned and not resign Andersen. Kerfoot front runner to get taken in the expansion draft. leaves room for both hyman and FA goalie

This team is younger than before and has more talent and depth than this year, cup contender? Lol no! But could sneak into the playoffs, we have 3/4 kids who are showing promise and the 2022 draft will be huge for us, this sets us up to start making a run in 2024 and beyond.
And Vlasic retiring or voiding his deal or sustaining a career ending injury who knows but this is a dream scenario.

Except Marleau is gone, and Goodrow is far better than Nieto and Balcers is better than Donato and Leonard and Gregor True and the rest of those guys will be a year older and more experienced and hopefully enough of them step up and prove themselves, if not we have cap space to go get another guy or two, my real hope is this is a fringe playoffs team/ we end up with a 8-14 pick in 2022 and use that to pick up another forward who can help us turn the team around.
This sets us up for 2024 and beyond

This site has Dahlen eligible. As well as Pilut from Buffalo who is also overseas without a contract. Might be an oversight on their part.

I like Kane but this whole thing keeps getting more and more weird, and obviously they would say they are committed to Kane why show your cards if you don’t have to, if we void him I would go hard for RNH and Hymen if we don’t I still want Hymen and vlasic I loved but he has looked downright pathetic and it’s embarrassing to watch him now,

Pashi, that’s upsetting if he has fallen that much! I had high hopes for him but if not him then Meloche or middlefield or jarros for the next 6/7 D but I really hope we get Hughs and Merkley steps up next season.

And honestly he’s not a guy I’m big on! At best I see him a 3 LW or 3C and chekovich and chmevelski both look more promising and younger, plus we have 2/3 guys from this last draft who are looking really good and will be fighting for spots by 2022/2023! And who knows what we get in 2021/2022 drafts,

None of those guys are signed at a discount, they are signed as flat cap rates, (see last season when everyone ended up taking less) plus if you look even if vlasic stays we have about 2.5 mil to add more to each deal.
But dude create a roster and pay each of those guys what you think they will get and see what your payroll comes out at, I think your not accurate. But I’m not trying to be a dick this is just a dream senario again.

Leafs likely go after a goalie in FA if they don't get resigned and not resign Andersen. Kerfoot front runner to get taken in the expansion draft. leaves room for both hyman and FA goalie

I could see that, and if that’s the case we look around at a team hurting for cap space with a decent middle 6 RW and offer them a trade,

This site has Dahlen eligible. As well as Pilut from Buffalo who is also overseas without a contract. Might be an oversight on their part.

I could be wrong either way Gambrell or would stay and be our 4C and I’d be ok with that as well

Hyman will cost more + High chance leafs resign him

Leafs wont be able to afford him hes going to be looking for a 5-5.5mil for 5 years or more. Leafs can only afford to resign him if he takes a team friendly deal or if they make moves to get cap space.

Good luck! That’s more than I’d want to spend on him, I think .2 points per game could be attributed to teams focusing on the stars and him getting a lot of lucky oppertunistic goals and assist from the stars that he won’t get with a weaker set of line mates.
Still a good player but not a 5 mil a year player especially in a flat cap. For comparison see Dandenov and Hoffman of last offseason as 5 mil a year players in this current cap structure.

RNH = Kane, Donato = Hyman you loose Simek and Vlasic at the blueline for Hughes that, lets be honest, would never be NHL ready at 18 like c'mon. Driedger is a bacup lmao like c'mon dude lets be real... The only thing you 're getting is an edge on Hyman. Goodrow is basically the same exact thing than all you're current bottom 6 forwards, bad... Cap space yes indeed but you're never goping to have all of this. Younger who cares you have a trash prospect pool. Sorry but it's the same exact thing than before but with new name on the shirts...
