Is it? I'd take Savard as our 3rd pairing d-man. Of Carlo goes down (like he is now) than Savard slots up. Not only that but Savard can take some TOI from McAvoy and Carlo and not overwork them.

When healthy it is. Other areas are of far more concern.

I think we've seen over the years just how important defensive depth is and we severely lack RHD depth after McAvoy and Carlo. You can get Savard and still have assets to address other needs.

If you are getting Forsberg it means you are going for it. If you are going for it you need a top end LD. Grzelcyk and 2 rookies won't cut it. Need Ekholm as well. Have to be all in or not at all.
