i think Mete deserves a chance and Ouellet hasn't been doing great in the AHL, don't see why we'd give him shot, also who plays right d 3 then ?

I agree. The problem is we need another top 4 D. LOL

But it is becoming more and more obvious that Mete is super easy to push off the puck. Ouellet has not played great in Laval. To be honest many have played better than him. This reminds me of Nathan Beaulieu that was -11 and Morgan Ellis that was +11. Yet Beaulieu got called up from Hamilton (AHL). At the time I was working with Eric Leblanc and Stephane Fournier and Fourns asked me to work with Elly, to keep his spirits up.

The thing about Ouellet, Dom and Joel were both playing in Europe when Xavier was born. They have known him his entire life. The same thing happened when Joel was coaching L'Armada. I got a call from Mike Provost asking why his son Matt was not playing. So I drove to watch several practices and noticed both Matt and Xavier were the same age and Matt was stronger and faster, but what Matt was lacking in his corner was Xavier's father, Joel and Dom are all very good friends. So I drove back and informed Matt Provost's father, Mike. Forget about it, your son will not play ahead of Xavier. Contacts dear friends, contacts!

On my mother and sons honour, yes I am an actual paid scout! LOL I coached for 23 years in the Q and O, got out of hockey in 2012. Then Bobby Smith that owns the Halifax Mooseheads called telling me he felt with MacKinnon he had a shot at the Memorial Cup but he needed 2 d-men and 1 depth forward. So I found him the players needed. So I did scouting until 2015, then a player showed up at my house that was going through a very difficult time and with my counselling degree was able to use that. Within no time 56 players had contacted me. I keep things extremely confidential. So I created this fake account just to chat hockey because I still love the game and I grew up in Montreal in the 70's & 80's but moved from Quebec in 1990. So I still cheer on the Habs. I like it. People find it hard to believe but it is true. Heck when my youngest was in grade 5, his teacher called saying my son was lying at school, so I asked what lies was he saying and the teacher said, he was sitting on PK Subbans lap, that his mom (my wife) was cooking for a full week Ryan O'Reilly's favourite meal and that a player from the Calgary Flames was sleeping in his bed. I told the teacher, well my son has not lied yet! LOL

Just last week, Bobby Orr sent me a very nice autographed picture as a thank you for helping out someone he knew. So ya. it is fun to be on here. I actually enjoy CapFriendly. I don't like the Forum set up and I don't like when people post ridiculous trades that will never happen but I am on here pretty much everyday!

Wow, good story. Also yeah the forums could be better set up, or at least shown more prominently, i feel like no one uses them, and for the ridiculous trades there's a report button for that
