Revision of a deal I did earlier today

Created by: TheOtherAuston
Team: 2020-21 Toronto Maple Leafs
Initial Creation Date: Mar. 16, 2021
Published: Mar. 16, 2021
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Amirov and 2nd = arvidsson
5th = retention
Engvall for cap purposes

I believe we will have accrued enough cap space to accommodate the pro-rated cap hits for both deals to be done.

Nemeth Is a big man who seems to be pretty steady, enough to provide some depth. Glendening really good in the faceoff dot this year.

Thornton and Spezza can rotate games

I'd be disappointed in that return if I was a Preds fan. Amirov is a solid prospect, but by all reports, he's very much a project. I'd rather hold on to Arvidsson and try to build some value if this is the best return they can currently get.

I'd assume they'd be more interested in picks/prospects at the end of the day. Dermott gets exposed in expansion, and Mikheyev doesn't really help them if the plan is to spend the next 1-2-3ish years rebuilding.

Wings accept in a heartbeat

Why would the Leafs trade Amirov for a middle 6 forward?

That deal was based on a preds fans deal and primarily got all positive response and I even removed one of the cap dumps.

Then it wouldn't be hallander going, it would likely be a much lesser prospect.

Yeah, I saw it, I just think that they can do better by holding onto him. He's got 3 very affordable years left on his deal, and a ton of upside.

They probably can do better but what if the team doesn't turn it around his numbers won't change much.
