Columbus accepts.

Anaheim tells you to go fleece some other team.

I'd hate to see Bear go. When he's on his game he's probably our best puck mover. His defensive and possession metrics are amazing. He's just made some costly errors, positioning mistakes and gotten unlucky. Not saying he's been great overall lately, the mistakes make up for his good advanced stats and whatever else

Bear is a legit 3-4 D and Safin is going to be a top 9 forward plus a draft pick for 1 year of Rackell, i doubt the Ducks say no.

I agree but Rackell would be a great fit with McDavid and JPJ

Rakell has one more year after this one. Context matters.

Also, the Ducks will want a young, experienced NHL player and a first-round pick.

That means they'll be asking for Puljujarvi and a 1st :/

Nobody knows what's going to happen next season exactly and Rakell will probably be traded long before then.

So, this is all moot. :/

Who says Safin is going to be a top 9 forward? Dobber Prospects rates him on a par with Matej Blumel and predicts that he won't stick in the NHL. Plus, he's a LW, and we have 4 guys in the NHL right now and 3 guys in the pipeline who are ahead of him on the depth chart.

Bear and a first is probably too much, but Lavoie and your 2021 first is certainly fair.

I get people like bear so do I but we can’t just brush off the fact that Barrie is without a shadow of a doubt significantly better in just about every aspect. Nearly point per game in the exact same role bear had last year. Home grown talent creates a biased view point.

I rarely advocate for advanced stats but Barrie's are awful. McDavid plays worse with him on the ice 5v5. Bear makes us a much better team than Barrie 5v5. Barrie's points will earn him a $5mill+ contract but between his bad 5v5 impact and the fact that he will take PP minutes away from Bouch I'm against an extension. A big extension would hurt our future. I love what he's doing this season although I wouldn't mind seeing him play less 5v5. I think people are way too critical of him though. To be clear I like what he's brought to the team, Bouch isn't ready for his role this season

This tweet has a graphic of Bear vs Barrie's 5v5 impact. It's a bit confusing if you don't know the terminology but blue means better offensive production, red means worse

Once Bear cleans up some of his mistakes I think more people will realize his impact

I don’t trust stats like that much anymore. Personally believe need to be very careful understanding them they tend to only narrow in on one aspect and completely disregard a lot of other aspects. I just don’t understand what more Barrie needs to do.
