Description

This would be the 2017-18 Leafs. I think this is a playoff team. They lose Polak, Hunwick, Marincin, Leivo and Corrado for picks and Josh Manson, which is fine with me a fills a top 4D man spot. They lose Komarov for a needed average backup in Kinkaid. Finally they lose JVR, which is a big blow but his spot is replaced temporarily by Kapanen. They add two firsts and a B+ Dman prospect in Juulsen.
Overall it's an upgraded team over last year's and add the fact that Marner, Matthews and Nylander have develloped and you have a good playoff team. The D is improved with Rielly, Gardiner, Manson and Zaitsev as the top 4. Then there is still the two first rounders from 2017 and 2018 and the future is bright !!!

I really don't get all those trades for picks...When to does this happen? TDL? Who plays defence for the Leafs this season? Aren't the Leafs in a playoff push instead of obtaining some meaningless picks?
When that Ducks trade happen? Awful for Ducks at TDL. And Manson is worth more than 55 and 85 pick. He's a regular NHLer on a great contract.

Creative to be sure. It would be nice for Corrado to go somewhere and actually play. Not to sure about two 1rdp's for JVR. Most likely one.

I like the idea of getting picks but I don't like the Komarov or JVR trade. Komarov is a hard player to play against and is worth more than a backup goalie and a 6th. Toronto and Montreal can never trade with each other.
