The absolute most I'd give him is 4.5/4, ideally you get him for 4/4 I feel like anymore than that and you might as well throw the 4.5M at Goodrow, Coleman, or any other player in that mold so you still have cap space for goaltending/depth

I think 4-4.5 is fair for Hyman, 4 years is the year after Matthews and Nylander expire and the year that Tavares and Marner expire.

Meanwhile, Caps fans spent half of last year on here trying to dump an identical player who has two years left at 2.75M: Richard Panik. He's getting middle six ice time again under the new coach and not free, but if they need cap space to sign Ovechkin, the Leafs could replace Hyman for a mid to late round pick, and still have cap space to add a more dynamic power forward like maybe a Bertuzzi or Anderson.
