Krempe, by far, the best player in the trade. Kerfoot must not be any good since he's a cap dump in every Tor ACGM trade.

Kerfoot is smart, fast and versatile, but he is not a shooter and trading him and his cap hit is the only realistic chance the Leafs have of acquiring some shooting talent or size.

Such an uneducated take. If you watch him, you'll notice he's a very solid 3rd liner. Good at both ends. He's far from a cap dump.

TOR declines this, a very good 3rd liner, a B prospect, a meh prospect, a first and a second is way too much for an average 2nd liner in Iafallo and a middle sixer in Kempe

You know I usually agree with you but we're worlds apart on this one. First of all, it wasn't @Riley816 who was saying that Kerfoot must be a cap dump and not very good, but merely reflecting the indisputable fact that four out of five Toronto ACGMs feature him getting traded. Second, as to substance, as you accurately point out, Kerfoot is a third liner (bottom sixer) and both Iafallo and Kempe have proven that they're top-sixers. Hallander, Kral and the first haven't proven that they even belong in the NHL yet. So two top-6 LWs for a high-priced third-line center and four futures isn't close to a good deal for Los Angeles, but it's a steal for Toronto.

The cost to upgrade from Kerfoot to Kempe isn’t Hallander. And Iaffalo, as a rental, is in no way worth a first, a second and Kral.

Well, you're clearly wrong about the upgrade from a bottom sixer to a top sixer not being worth more than Hallander, and I think you're looking at this trade incorrectly.

I think that your analysis is led astray by the misconception that Kerfoot, Hallander and Kral have some trade value to Los Angeles. They might, to some team like Boston or Pittsburgh which needs depth players and has a shallow prospect pool, but Los Angeles isn't deficient in either area. Kerfoot wouldn't fit at center because we have Vilardi, Turcotte, Byfield and Anderson-Dolan coming up and he wouldn't take Kempe's place at LW because Athanasiou is a faster and cheaper alternative. Hallander isn't a better prospect than Kaliyev and Grundstrom is already maturing into a mid-6 LW, so he's well ahead of Hallander in development. Kral isn't in the top 3 of your own LD prospects and wouldn't be higher than Kale Clague, Cole Hults or Kim Nousiainen on our LD prospect depth chart.

In short, I think that the right way to look at this proposed exchange is that the difference between Kempe and Kerfoot is more than a first, and Iafallo is worth more than a second and two B prospects. In particular, I think that you should strongly reconsider your assertion that the difference between Kempe and Kerfoot isn't Hallander. Kempe is faster, two years younger, cheaper and under team control for twice as long.

But we're still friends.

It's unfair to say that Grundstrom is ahead of Hallander because the former is 3 years older than the latter.

In that case......Kings still decline. They have too many kerfoots.

Plus, kempe is an RFA Kerfoot is not.
