Maybe if they are truly desperate and with retention bernier gets a 2nd. I think it's a 3rd but ok. Can't see anyone parting with a 2nd for glendening even with the kicker. I'd rather keep fabbri on a cheap deal andpitt probably declines anyways.

The problem with this is how do you remain competitive making these moves? Yes you have a lot of draft picks but most prospects take about 2 to 3 years to develop and make an NHL team. Let's say this does happen You have traded 9 solid NHL players and coming back you have Hickey and Riikola. So what's next Detroit fills in the holes with UFAs? That quite possibly will make last years Detroit team look good.

All the trades are guys who are UFA's aside from Fabbri and Mantha. Both are replaced by high potential young guys in Raymond and Berggren and we add Harley on LD. Yzerman could still make a few free agent signings to round out the group with some vets. This team wouldn't be much different than what Ottawa is doing this year. In a couple years there's a good chance this team will be really good with a ton more young guys on the way

Just feel like Canes could really use Glendening and he's a somewhat rare commodity for this deadline in what he offers to a playoff contender and the Canes may be willing to give up a 2nd to ensure they get him.

I'm not sure he's so rare, hes good on draws but other than that he's a pretty average 4th liner. I like him too but if carolina was willing to move a 2nd at the deadline they can do better than glenny.

First sorry this took so long I meant to send it a while ago but I forgot to and second I'm not trying to argue with you this is just how I see it. Normally it wouldn't bother me but you are a Detroit fan so I feel I owe you the extra explanation since i'm a Wing's fan as well.

Yeah they are UFAs but we will probably resign a couple of them. You outlook on the prospects is very optimistic. The new prospects we will see in Detroit next season Seider should make the team right out of camp, then Veleno but probably not permanently until the 2nd half of the season and we might see Berggren a little next season. I will be happy if Veleno figures it out and ends the season with a roster spot. I will be happy if Berggren makes it through this season without an injury, then makes the trip across the pond and is playing pro hockey in North America next season but it will be in Grand Rapids for at least a year.

Right now it looks like Namestnikov is going to be the player lost to Seattle. I don't know if Detroit could get more than a 5th for Nemeth but he is definitely worth more to than a 5th to Detroit. That return for Mantha would be amazing but I don't see Dallas giving up that much for him, especially with how well Harley is playing right now. Currently Dallas is in 7th place in the central division with 30 points and that puts them 7 points out of a playoff spot. They do have 4 games in hand over the 3 teams they need to pass for a play off spot. That 1st from Dallas could be a lottery pick but as a draft day trade we will have to wait and see it pans out.
