    That's not the issue. Kreider's contract isn't interesting at all. They won't take it for one year, there are other options.

    The Kreider/Debrusk trade is likely the only trade that gets considered and the rest are pretty quickly declined.

    People are going to freak out over this, but it's true based on the numbers. Sure he won a Hart (undeservingly, IMO), but he's not the same player at all.

    I agree, but I still believe his opinion is high in management circles, which is why I overpaid him. It is a one-year deal in case it doesn't work out.

    That's what Buffalo said. Now they'll probably have to retain 50% just to get any return at all at the deadline. And that return likely won't be as good as a late 1st round pick anyhow.
