I don’t know how I feel about the value, we’d have to flip Zucker right away, but I don’t know if Mantha is the right piece for the Penguins. He has size, but he doesn’t use it enough IMO, and he floats around a fair bit. Maybe being on the same team as Sid, and a competitive team, would light a fire under his ass, but it’s hard to say

I get the criticism about Mantha but the fact is that even if he's not using his size or reaching his full potential, he's still a really good player. My point is that because Burke seems to be obsessed with this idea of size (and I don't really care about it), a player like this is the best option.

As for Zucker, he is signed for two more years can could reasonably be viewed as a both a good player for the top six and someone that could provide some leadership for the young guys Detroit has. Then at next year's trade deadline, he can be dealt with a year left on his contract for additional value.

I think wings would have to accept it, it's a strong proposal regardless of how we feel about mantha

Mantha is made of glass. It's not adding size, it's adding to the IR list.

Burke has never been obsessed with size and getting good player for his team....otherwise the Leafs would have good teams in his tenure as a Leaf.
Media coverage for himself is Burke's obsession.

For better or worse, Burke loves to make splash trades for stars. He also never shuts up about teams being too small and needing size (and prioritized this over getting good contributing players). He's an extremely flawed manager.

But yeah, he does love that media attention.

I've told Pens fans before.....Hextall is the GM, for Pens sake, don't let Burke have a say in any on ice/off ice personnel decisions.

Don't worry this won't happen.

FYI - Drouin will never come to Detroit as long as Yzerman is the GM there and I'm pretty sure Drouin is 100% ok with that.

True. There's nothing plausible about that bundle, I was just trying to figure out how good the Pens offer was and If MTL could compete with it.
