Calgary sells their team for rentals and 1 year lefts when they're already out of contention.

Terrible for calgary, if they got ekholm they would have to bench one of hanifin, gio or valimaki. Also the value is terrible for calgary they easily decline

As a Flames fan I don't mind this...both Ekholm and Forsberg have a year left. If you are worreid about too many left defenders, do the right thing and sell off Gio. Age has caught up to him and it would be a kindness to move him to a contender. Monohan and Gio would have to agree to move but if Monohan is going with his buddy Gaudreau he might and Gio might like a shot at the Cup.

I think it's time for Gio to move on, at least get something of value for him. Get him to a contender because It aint happening in Calgary as of now. Seems like Calgary Is moving away from the Monahan/Gaudreau pairing. Just because Ekholm & Forsberg have a yr left doesnt automatically mean their rentals. Forsberg's a star and Ekholm is rock solid defensively. Flames gotta try a different 1st line imo bc what they got right now just isnt meshing enough for a cup run.
