I like the deal from a Sharks standpoint but I don't like the retention. Would you do it without retention?

Probably not since Burns' deal is longer.

I honestly like the first deal better.

Going with this outline though, we wouldn't want a defenseman. Simek and Ferraro are decent and Vlasic is fine as well. We also have a solid prospect in Kniazev and Pasichnuk is good as well.

What about Burns+Labanc for Voracek+Lindblom

They shouldn't do it, but knowing Bowman and his tendency to acquire back is former guys, I wouldn't be surprised at all if this went through.

Some prospects that would pretty much be off-limits (unless a huge overpay) would be

Merkley, Bordeleau, Kniazev, Blichfeld, & Leonard (if you still consider him a prospect).

Pretty much everyone else would be fine.
