Description
The picks are negotiable - it's a weird season with an oddly valued draft. Player movements are the focal point, the picks can be flexible to whatever the perceived necessary value adjustments would be.

Kuzy/Granlund: Caps get cap space, offseason flexibility, and someone who can still slot in as a middle-six C. Preds get more skill and offensive oomph for their late surge - should help them break out of the bottom 10 in GF/GP. Nashville is likely not on Kuzy's NTC list.

Hagelin/Soderberg: Chicago is selling their cap space. Caps get more of that and a good bottom-6 rental for wing/center. Chicago gets another draft pick. Panik works here, too, I just personally think Hags is the guy to move between the two. If you don't like the Hawks for this move, pick another team with a similar situation. There's options.

Bernier/Picks: Anderson is the throw-in just so there's the right amount of goalies to go around for each team. Detroit basically moves up a round in the draft with a late 4th as an extra incentive. Samsonov to the taxi squad as the worst performing goalie of the three right now. None of this happens if the Caps think Lundqvist can actually return to play this season.

Chicago rejects. You have to pay to move Hagelin’s salary.

He has to be sheltered in the offensive zone, and the Caps just don't have the defensively responsible forwards to cover all the time. Nashville has a better reputation for that, and I think they can make it work better than DC with their roster makeup. Kuzy can also (arguably *should*) play on the wing, too, but doesn't have that option with the Caps.

NSH declines. Absolutely no interest in taking on Kuznetsov's contract. If Granlund were to be traded, NSH would be looking for futures in return.

After Connie, I’m not sure Chicago wants another long term contract 3+ years of iffy salary.

Money isn’t bad, but the term is. He doesn’t fit the youth movement in Chicago.

Is this a troll? Trading Kuzy is stupid. Why would the Caps trade Kuzy for a lower level player? They are in win now mode, and Kuzy gives them a chance at that. If they are going to Trade kuzy its because they are packing it in and starting the rebuild so they do it for top prospects and draft picks.

If you take the 3rd going to the Caps out and the 4th going to Detroit and it has a much better chance of happening.
