Description

I have to assume they want to infuse as many of the young guys as they can, but the old guys have done a pretty nice job and I’ve got to imagine we want to keep a few. I’m hoping Seider, Raymond and at least one more youngster, maybe Veleno are playing. We need to draft a good LD for the future and then the other area to address is a top 6 center and I’m not sure what we do there or if we just hope one of our guys develops into one. Without injuries though we have a bit of a logjam... can one of our rhd play LD?

Didn’t make much of an effort to get salaries right on resigned guys

Also: worried this team is getting hot and draft stock is plummeting haha

I wish my team had so much cap space they could give 5m$ to Marc Staal and still have 11m$ left.

Staal has been a quietly solid veteran presence back there for the team so I figure they could overpay to keep him, doubt either side wants to but wanted to see how it looks

Also leafs have a struggling powerplay...mind giving us Adam Erne??

Wish Veleno would get a shot here to finish the season but all reports basically point to him finishing up in GR and hopefully having a good playoff stretch. Hopefully makes the roster next fall.

As for Erne I have no idea what to even make of this guy he’s been phenomenal. I was out on him last year thought he was just taking up a roster spot but dang, trust in Stevie Y. Erne now looks like a solid depth guy with some grit

I am also concerned about Detroit playing well and essentially playing their way out of a top 5 pick. At least this years draft has a solid top 10 without a true number 1 pick. Maybe this is what it will take for Detroit to finally win the lottery. It seems like every year a team with a 5% chance wins it. LD is definitely and issue for us but there are an abundance of them around the league compare to RD, maybe Wings try to sign Martinez to fill the gap, his is from Michigan after all.
