I don't think we need Reinhart. Just put Holtz in the top 6

I think that’s about $2 million too high and 2 years too long in Hamilton contract.
I don’t think he is getting Pietrangelo money.

I don’t think we should rush holtz and put him in the top 6. He wasn’t even playing top 6 in Sweden the second half of the year.

We have to overpay to get a player like Dougie. Analytically speaking he is a #1. I think he’s worth the money and we will have PK off the books soon. Other than Walsh we our righty d prospects are nonexistent.

Definitely NOT an over pay for Dougie. Pay him anything it takes. Now the other RFAs are way overpaid. Kuok and Shara are not getting anywhere close to $2.25. Way too much for Bas he's a fringe 13th forward. I don't think Murray gets more than $3. Seney is not getting a $225k raise. And Sieg is maybe getting $1 million. But I don't mind the Reimer signing!

Kuokkanen and Sharangovich both deserve $2.25m if Dougie deserves $8.5m

NJD has won three cups.
2003 we had one righty.
2000 we had one righty.
1995 we had zero righties.
Don’t overthink it.

Sharangovich and Kuok I think deserve decent raises. Honestly i rushed through a few of them and agree with Seney, bastian, and Jonas I overpaid.

I don’t disagree with you on Murray but again I think we have to overpay unfortunately.

Then keep the Kuok-Hughes-Yegor line together. I don't see a need for Reinhart at that price

Agree to disagree.

Reinhart has averaged 60 points per game on an 82 game basis over last 3 years. He’s historically always healthy which is huge as well. He can also slot in at center and he’ll Hughes with draws which helps short term but hopefully he figures it out long term.

Wood’s value is up right now so I sell high there. They’ve been saying fitzy will use islanders pick for a proven player which I am all for. We need to put a experienced player with Hughes who has a track record of scoring . If we get someone like a reinhart then Clarke is expendable even though I like him a lot as a prospect.

Your not gonna get Dougie for much less if at all
Reinhart is Isles first ++, not ours
Get One of the D men in top 7 and start to play

Sabres trade doesn’t work
If we trade Eichel, then we don’t want Wood- we’d want youth/picks
If we keep Eichel, we don’t want the 1st- we’d want guys to help us win NOW

Wood is only 25 (26 next year) so you get someone to play now while also getting a first and a prospect who should be nhl ready within the next 2 years as well.

Is the value there? If you swapped would with someone else, who would you want back?

Yeah I had used isles first as I doubt we end up moving our own since it’ll be top 6.

The value is “ok” i guess
But if we are trading Eichel & Reinhart, then we’d want pieces back that are 23 & under
I like Wood, his age just wouldn’t fit our new timeline imo
