Toronto Trade Deadline

Created by: hockeymad
Team: 2016-17 Toronto Maple Leafs
Initial Creation Date: Jan. 10, 2017
Published: Jan. 10, 2017
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
The trade gives ARI a Vet with proven leadership and mentorship ability that they will need next year with Doan most likely retiring and a RHD that has the ability to be a 3rd pair. The leafs get a solid shutdown RHD, and a versatile winger that may just need a fresh start. I know we will be fighting for a playoff spot but I don't think the leafs are going to change their game plan if they planned on trading Bozak at the deadline and JVR they will still pull the trigger. Saying that this trade improve our D and if our rookies are talented enough to pull off a playoff spot we still will compete for one.

Learn to read the explanation. I stated Doan retiring, the need for leadership. Duclair is regressing with the prospects comming up is probably expendable.

I live in Tucson, so I watch the Coyotes farm team on a regular basis. However, there's no way that the Coyotes are going to trade ANY prospects, unless they have an issue with the organization. Chayka knows that some of these guys might end up being busts, so keep all of them and hope for the best.

What prospect?? listen Duclair is not adjusting to the NHL and needs a fresh start and Stone is having an off year and is not going to be resigned cause they openly have told everyone they are looking to trade him. Also, just cause edmonton thinks an all star forward is the cost for a 2nd pair dman doesn't mean every canadian team is that stupid.
